What a beautiful weekend

We are ready for spring/summer and the weather is cooperating as well! Yesterday, we were able to start our vegetable garden and we planted: cauliflower, carrots, salad, onions, radish, and cucumbers. Later, we will transplant the seedlings of tomatoes, romanesco, and peppers. We planned the garden this year with our baby boy in mind. He is such a good eater and this is his current food list: potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken, apples, bananas, rice cereal, and oatmeal cereal. We discovered that he reacts to zucchini and we stopped giving it to him (he already reacted when I had it and he was nursing afterwards).

Besides our garden, we just spent a lot of time with Andrin. We feel so blessed to have him in our life. He is such a great little boy with such a wonderful personality.
Andrin's little feet are always kicking around ...

With the beginning of spring, we put our front porch swing up again and Andrin loved it.

We also took time to do some planning for our trip to Switzerland at the end of June/beginning of July. Andrin and I will be leaving two weeks earlier, and then Clemens will join us. It is always difficult to get everything organized!

Andrin's way to read the Sunday paper ...

Andrin happy again ... after he had to have his finger nails clipped which he just hates!

Rolling ....

I have been working hard on achieving another milestone ... rolling from my back to my stomach. I have been able to roll from my stomach to my back for quite some time and I lost interest in doing it. But somehow, it was more difficult to do it the other way. But yesterday, my Papi was taking some pictures and I was able to do it and he took pictures of it.

Also, my back is getting really strong and I have been sitting and standing (with help) quite a lot.

Giggles

I am so thankful to have a happy baby ... And I am glad that Clemens has such a wonderful laugh which his son has inherited. But to capture Andrin's beautiful laugh has been a challenge. Whenever I get the camera out, he is more interested in that little thing than in laughing. But I think I got some samples of his giggles. Just sit back and listen ... it always brings tears to my eyes from laughing so hard!

Clemens is a handyman!

It is difficult for Clemens to impress me with work around the house. I guess we can blame it on my Papi who is so multi talented and just knows how to do everything. But Clemens really outdid himself and made some great raised beds for our vegetable garden. Now, we just have to get some new soil and we are ready for planting!

Eating potatoes

Today, I had potatoes for lunch again. I start really liking them. It is frustrating how my Papi sometimes is just not fast enough. I decided to take everything in my own hands and pull the bowl toward myself and start grabbing for the spoon. At night, I had bananas. Even though I had to make some funny faces, I ate all the bananas. And after that, we went for a walk around the neighborhood. Papi has been dying to try out the new backpack. I really liked it and had a good time looking at everything from up high.

Dinner with friends!

Last night, we finally had John and Keiko over again for dinner. We had planned on a dinner a long time ago and then John got sick ... Andrin also decided to stay up late (he took a late afternoon nap because he was so busy exploring everything outside) and we had a delicious Northwestern dinner (Chinook salmon). In the beginning, Andrin was a little bit scared by his Godfather's beard, but he really enjoyed being held by Keiko! Thank you so much for spending the evening with us! (Andrin went to bed around 8.30 pm and slept until 5.00 am !!!!!)

We are ready for spring!

This weekend has been beautiful! We all started to feel the cabin fever and just needed a weekend with sunshine and warm temperatures! Clemens has been really busy in the garden (I will blog about it tonight) and Andrin and I joined him out there. Andrin sat in the grass and I just have to share these pictures. He did not really know what to think about it in the beginning, but then he started to giggle because the grass was tickling him. And of course, he also had to taste the grass and figure out if it would be something worthwhile adding to his diet ...
