Bigna

Just some pictures of our little girl. She is sitting on her own without any problems and has been rocking back and forth on her knees, not quite crawling, but getting close ...

Creativity

Every time, I am just amazed by our boy's creativity. He always makes me laugh with his inventions. Don't ask me why I am so fascinated by his play ... Maybe because I pay attention to it due to my profession, maybe because I have dealt with so many children that were not able to play, ...

Halloween spirit

This past Saturday, Andrin's playgroup was hosting a Halloween party. Our boy was rather shy and timid and did not want to join the fun in the beginning. I am so glad that we did not make an elaborate costume since I suspected that he was not really into wearing it ... Bigna, on the other hand, did not really seem to care about her interesting outfit. Andrin and Bigna both were gnomes. Or as Andrin liked to point out "Tomte Tumetott."

Bigna just discovered her ability to wave ... and also is signing "milk", even though Mami has not been as consequent in teaching sign language ...

Checking out her gnome slippers ...

Andrin is just protecting his head so that Papi cannot put his hat on his head ...

Not the happiest gnome you can imagine, I guess ...

Working with Mami on a spider out of egg cartons.

Bigna was so happy at the party. She did not take a nap, but there was so much going on that she just could not resist checking everything out. As soon as we left the party, she was sound asleep in the stroller:)

Bigna's baptism, part 1

I think my brother, Jorrit, who took wonderful pictures at Bigna's baptism, knew that I was eager to get the pictures ... Here we go ... Thanks so much, Jorrit, for the wonderful pictures!

Waiting for the church service to end so that we can get in the church ...

The fountain where they baptize the children.

Getting Bigna ready for her big celebration. Oma is helping putting her into the baptism dress that has been in our family for 120 years (!) or six generations, descending from my mother's side (yes, Mami and Andrin were baptized in that same dress as well).

Gotti Nisha and Nayan.

Rani.

Oma and Nicole, Jorrit's wife.

All ready and dressed. Bigna did not take a morning nap and was getting tired.

Papa and Opa Jumbo. Uncle Felix unfortunately did not make it since his car broke down on the way ... We did not have such bad luck with the tram :)
Our little congregation. As the priest started talking, Bigna decided that she was ready for her nap and fell asleep ...

Opa waiting for his turn to present Bigna with some wonderful music.

Oma was Opa's helper and supposed to turn the pages ... Don't ask Opa if he was happy with her performance :)

Andrin had to put his hand in the water as well. The priest did a wonderful job incorporating the children as well.

Papa lighting Bigna's candle.

Godmother Nisha was not entirely sure what she was supposed to do with the handkerchief that she was handed.

Andrin got to light his candle again as well.

Just in time for the baptism, Bigna woke up again and opened her eyes. To our big surprise, she did not cry, even though she got wet!

Andrin got to choose a magnet for himself and for Bigna (he choose a rabbit for Bigna).

Our families ... including godmother Nisha and godfather Vinc.
