A spring weekend

We truly enjoyed this beautiful spring weekend. We were outside the entire time, ate outside, had company to play in the garden, spent time on the playground, got some new tomato plants for the balcony, ...
Bigna loved the new flower pots that we got ...

Every Saturday morning, Clemens packs up the children to go to the bakery to get some fresh bred (giving Mami a little bit more time to get ready and maybe even get some more sleep. Thank you and love you, Clemens!). This weekend, he called me down and wanted me to capture this "Kodak moment".

Attempt to get a picture of Andrin and Bigna together ... (not very successful, I am afraid ... ). And by the way, Andrin is picking out his clothes now on his own ... Can you tell? He is big into a stripe phase ...

Andrin has been asking about the hammock and Papi got it up.

Well ... something happened here ... but it did not bother Andrin that he was laying on the ground as long as he was still on the hammock ...

Bigna found Andrin's big bear backpack and just insisted on putting it on herself.

This girl is up to mischief ... I can tell you. Bigna would be eating all day if you would not stop her ... Here, she is eying something special ... And brother does not seem to have a clue ...

Brother is too occupied and distracted and Bigna is making her move ...

A happy boy ...

Today, our beautiful spring/summer weather returned. It was so nice to be outside. We did some yard work (cutting back the bushes that froze during the cold spell this winter) and enjoyed the playground. But if you would ask Andrin, there was another highlight today: He got to help our janitor cut the grass. He was so excited because he got to sit on the big tractor and was even able to steer it. He was so happy and looked so big on the tractor!

What a week ...

It has been quite the week ... Opa Jumbo is in the hospital and we wish him all the best and a quick recovery. Also, Omama (Mami's grandmother) is in the hospital, after falling in the bathroom and we also wish her a quick recovery. Then, Andrin and Bigna both got sick. Bigna first started with a runny nose and a horrible cough. Then, Andrin was sent back home from daycare (Mami was just in the middle of uploading her first bills from her private practice:) with a pink eye. This was Friday early afternoon. By Friday evening, he was coughing had a runny nose, and a fever. And this right when Mami was going to be gone the entire weekend for a conference. And then of course .... Andrin started complaining about his ear hurting ... Well ... We are back on another round of antibiotics. We tried to get an earlier appointment at the specialist to decide what to do about his ear (he is getting recurring ear infections in the ear that the tube fell out) and were able to have an appointment four days (!) (huhu!!!) earlier. It was so difficult to convince them that we really did not need an earlier appointment! And on top of everything, Oma also got sick after baby sitting Andrin and Bigna on Thursday. Just after starting back after Easter break, Opa also got sick, so that they are laying in bed as well ...
Today, we are all doing better. Andrin's ear is not hurting as much, Bigna only has a runny nose, ... And we are hoping that we will be back to normal soon!

Andrin thought that it was quite a good idea to put his underwear on his head for a change.

Little sister that it was quite the look as well ...

Just in time, Bigna discovered how to blow her nose.

Just a fun age. Whenever you ask Bigna something, she will do it (I wonder how long that will last:).  She also has been getting better in using her signs and letting us now what she wants and has on her mind.

A new fort.

Andrin has been big into building things. Here, he built a farm for his animals. Too cute ... If  it just would not have been at ten o'clock at night when he had to build it ...

Natur 2012

Every spring (even though it does not feel like spring at all at the moment with the cold temperatures and the rain), there is a big market here in town. We decided that it would be too much for the children to go there yet and decided to go to a parallel market called Natur(e) that runs at the same time. It was a big success with the petting zoo, the climbing wall, and the tractors ... The children did not mind at all that it was raining ...

We just talked before how Andrin loved to walk and jump in puddles ...

Andrin was not so interested in the petting zoo because he was "busy" with the tractor park ...

Bigna loved the tractors as well.

Waiting for the baby goats so that we can give them the bottle of milk ...

Andrin getting ready for his first climbing experience.

Coming down. Andrin's comment.: It was flying like a bird.

On our way back home.
