Mr. Creative

I know I should not be amazed and surprised by our big boy's imagination as a trained play therapist, but I marvel over his innovations and ideas. It is wonderful to see an undisturbed and healthy child playing and makes me sad at the same time because I know that so many of the children that we work with never had the opportunity to develop this creativity in play.

The cow sits on top of Opa's birthday present which sits on top of the Radio Flyer wagon. Andrin actually wanted to take this entire construction to the post office. I had to explain that the cow does not like to get out into the cold and that the birthday present might fall off .. "Mami, you carry the present then."

Sorting mini cupcakes. Will be still use them? Probably not. Did Andrin have fun? Definitely!

Plotting his next strategic move in building a tall tower.

Andrin actually got his "Happy appetite" to build a tall tower. He calls his step stole "Happy Appetite" because Winnie the Pooh does climb up and down in one of the classic episodes and says that he is working on an happy appetite. Makes perfect sense to call it "Happy appetite" then, right?

Good thing that it was Papi this time who bought Andrin another wooden tractor and not Mami ... Andrin put all his wooden trains and tractors together right away and off they drove.

Waiting for our weekly Skype call with Opa Jumbo. Andrin had all his stuffed animals lined up to meet Opa's elephants (big and small jumbo) and loved to watch the screen saver with all the different pictures on the computer. He is fascinated by the pictures of Mami at the hospital. He has been talking about being in Mami's tummy and seems to try to understand that Mami once was in Oma's tummy. His uncle Timmie was in aunt Tuuli's tummy though, so I guess we have to do some more education here.
