This and That ...

I just wanted to share some pictures and some stories out of a day with Andrin ...

When we got home from work/daycare yesterday, we just could not resist the beautiful weather and were outside in the backyard for a little bit. Andrin discovered the clothes pins and put them on his sweater and just kept on playing. He was delighted that he got to use the sandbox again.

Any guesses what we did today? Yes, we made some cupcakes. Andrin was a big helper (like he always is). He loved to stir the dough and mix all the ingredients. He even tried to crack an egg open. He was successful by cracking it open, but it did not make it entirely into the bowl. And if you are asking yourself if our boy was in a good mood today, then the simple answer is: YES. He would laugh and giggle randomly and seemed to just enjoy his life.

Of course there has been a lot of baby talk in our house lately. Andrin always says "hi" to his baby sister in Mami's tummy and has to make sure that she is getting enough to eat and drink (he is even willing to share his milk with her). Somehow, he also knows that his baby sister will be nursing and he will tell you that she will get milk from Mami and that it comes out of Mami's breasts (smart boy!). But he loves to look at Mami's tummy and then has to uncover his own tummy (oh yes, we did not mention that there is a baby in there as well ... even though he commented the other day that Mami's tummy is big and that his is small in comparison) and touch his naked tummy to his baby sister in Mami's tummy. Andrin also will crawl all over the place and now is pretending to be his baby sister (before, it was always Henley), just using baby talk, and crying from time to time. But he also rediscovered the bouncy chair and loves to sit in there and watch Mami cook or just hang out in there ...

Trick or Treating

We visited our dear friends last night to do some serious Trick or Treating in their little village. It was great and Andrin had a wonderful time. Initially, he just stayed in the little wagon and did not go up to the houses. But when he discovered after a while what was going on (there was some candy in the stakes) and he decided to join his friends.

Did you ever hear of a kitty wearing a football helmet ... ta da ...

Ready for the ride.

All cozy and bundled up.

Halloween Party

On Sunday (October 31st), we met with Andrin's little friends from our parenting group through Birth to Three and celebrated Halloween together. The children had a good time running around in their costumes, even though most of us decided to take them out of their warm costumes because they were sweating so much. Andrin had the choice between the kitty and the lion and he did not wafer and wanted to be the kitty.

Kitty is getting ready to head out the door.

Some of our friends thought that this was already itself a wonderful Halloween costume ... Andrin just loved the beads.

Another costume?

Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

We had a true Oregonian experience today: A trip to the pumpkin patch with rain and lots of mud. Why go to the pumpkin patch on a nice and dry day if you can have all the fun of puddles and mud? The children agreed with us and were not that interested in the pumpkins (and scared of the tractor for the hay ride), so that we just took a short stroll to the pumpkin patch and back.

Andrin and his favorite pumpkin.

Can you imagine how difficult it is to get four energetic boys in one picture?

Eyeing a nice pumpkin.

Pumpkins are good for a resting spot. Especially, when you also have a back to lean on.

How much fun can mud be? The boys were just too cute with their rain gear and boots.

All of them in one shot. They are looking at the fish in the pond.

Another birthday celebration!

OK, I promise, this was the last festivity for Andrin's two year birthday! We met today with our group of friends that we met through Birth to Three Parenting classes and celebrated that all our babies are two years old now. We went to the American Academy of Gymnastics in Springfield and the children had a wonderful time bouncing, jumping, climbing, ...

What happened to our baby?

Thanks, Dana and Angie, for the wonderful cupcakes.

Enjoying his cupcake ...
