Visit with Oma and Opa in Alpnach

After our trip to Basel, we went to visit Oma and Opa in Alpnach, Obwalden. Andrin was looking forward to the cows and Mami and Papi were amazed about the beauty and calamity of this place. I guess you really have to be away for a while to really appreciate where you grew up. Andrin was in heaven, especially with all the animals around. But he also was spoiled by his grandparents, and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with Opa, and eating ice cream from Oma. Oma and Opa also celebrated both their 60th birthday, knowing each other for 40 years, .... We were fortunate to be part of their birthday party with friends.

Cows! They just brought three cows the night of our arrival and Andrin would ask constantly to see them and then call out to them. Did you notice that he is even wearing the perfect Swiss outfit to call out to the cows?

After the party for Oma and Opa, we took a bittersweet trip to the Bergli. What a wonderful place to be! Nik invited us to enjoy his home. But of course, every corner of this place is filled with memories of my beloved godmother. It was a difficult visit, and Gotti was missed dearly! I thought many times about her and how she would have added to our trip to Switzerland. I know that she was with us, but I would have loved to share everything with her. She would have loved to see Andrin!
