Herbstmaess (fall fair)

The Herbstmaess (fall fair) here in Basel is the oldest of its kind in Switzerland and it is quite the adventure. I love to go and hunt for ideas for Christmas presents. Others go for the crazy rides. And of course you cannot deny that the food plays an important role as well. There is lots of different candies that you can only get at Herbstmaesse and who can say no to a good sausage (well, I cannot:)
Today, we ventured to the Herbstmesse with everyone (excluding Papa, because he had to give a talk) in tow. We met Oma and Opa at home and then took the tram to get to the city. I was curious to see how Andrin would do with the masses of people, but he did great. He was really tired and we are all hoping that he will finally sleep a little bit better again (he has been getting up every night, sometimes staying awake for almost two hours, uff!). Bigna was also a great trooper, sleeping through most of the commotion.
Andrin loved the rides and got brave after riding on the first ride together with Mama. He even liked the rides so much that he had a hard time getting off ... And we could not have wished for a more beautiful fall day. It was just a perfect day with Oma and Opa, thanks so much, for joining us (and of course for the pictures).
