Our Zoo

Did I ever mention how much Andrin loves the zoo here in Basel? I cannot remember how many times we already went there (we have a annual pass, which makes it so easy to decide to go there for a couple of hours:). And Andrin keeps asking to go back. Bigna has been enjoying it as well, especially the monkeys. She will sit still by the window for hours, just observing them. A couple of weeks ago, Papa joined us as well (we try to stay clear of the weekends because the zoo tends to be overcrowded, especially with the beautiful spring weather (Andrin kept asking me today if it already summer:). Andrin was so excited to have Papa along, because he finally had someone to take along to look at the snakes. Mami usually goes until the chameleons and then waits for Andrin outside. He is great in just looking at the snakes himself, but of course it is more fun to look at the snakes with someone. Andrin always has to tell everyone in the tram that he loves snakes, but that Mami does not. Today, he saw a stuffed snake and wanted to get it. Mami was able to stop his pestering by telling him that she could sew him a snake as well. Mami sewing a snake? Well, I guess there are certain things that you will do for your child that you never imagined ever doing ...

Never a visit to the zoo without the traditional zoo ice cream (there is a special ice cream that they make only for the zoo ...).

Back home, we enjoyed the afternoon in our garden. Andrin built a tunnel to his tigger tent ...
