Cold spell!

Well, it is here again! We already had a cold spell last year, but it hit the Northwest again this year. So far, not too much snow yet, but that can change, right? This morning, we had about 15 degree Fahrenheit (-10 Celsius) and we are expecting 10 Degree Fahrenheit tonight (-12 Celsius). And like last year, our pipes in the house do not like this kind of weather. It all started yesterday with the cold water pipe upstairs not working anymore (it was a hot shower, I can tell you) and our landlord sent their landscaper (!) and another guy out to fix the problem, but they both concluded that there was no fixing possible. This morning, there was no water at all upstairs and no cold water downstairs ... After not hearing anything from the landlord until noon, we called again and they sent one of their guys out again ... diagnosis: frozen pipes. There is at the moment a heater running 24/7 to defrost the pipes and they will make an effort to insulate the area around the pipe (it is right underneath our kitchen sink, the place where all our oil keeps freezing (I was looking for the pictures, but could not find them ..) ). Let's hope we still have water tomorrow morning for a shower. Andrin luckily had his bath tonight.
