Visit with Opa in Oberburg

After the wedding celebrations in Berguen, we drove to visit with Opa in Oberburg, Bern. On our way there, we stopped to meet uncle Felix. Andrin was happy to discover a playground right by the lake.
In Oberburg, we had a good time with Opa. We took strolls through the neighborhood, met cows and goats, and just played. We also went to Bern to visit the Embassy of the United States and got our new visas. While Mami was at the Embassy, the boys went to the zoo together. Mami was already done after a hour and then enjoyed some shopping time by herself (when did that happen the last time) until the meeting time with the boys.
A visit to Oberburg is never complete without a visit to a nearby local cookie factory. Even Andrin enjoyed all the cookies. And we sent about 14 pounds of cookies back!

Thank you, Opa, for sharing your time with us and being such a wonderful host (like always)!

Playing on the playground.

Skipping stones with uncle Felix and Papi.

Uncle Felix.

Andrin got a new boat from uncle Felix and had to test it in the big pool in Opa's backyard.

Playing with Opa in the morning.

Trip to the local cookie store. Good thing Andrin could not push the big grocery cart because we would have spent even more money ...

Three generations of Cabernards enjoying an evening stroll.

Can anything beat this view?

All the wonderful pastries and bakeries ... Andrin is enjoying a little turtle.

Having fun at the zoo.

Waking up after a long afternoon nap.

Papi loves Asterix and Obelix and Andrin enjoyed it as well.

No visit to Switzerland without some encounters with cows ...

A store full of Swiss cookies? Oh my!!! I LOVE the picture of Andrin riding on your shoulders. Cow encounters...I need to have one of those someday.
