Update on Andrin
Today, we finally had an appointment with the pediatric Ear specialist. It took all our creativity to coax Andrin into allowing him to see his ear, but in the end, the basket with little toys did the trick. With that in eyesight, Andrin was absolutely still and the pediatrician was able to examine his ear. They also got the lab results back and we now know that Andrin has a viral infection. And this particular viral infection is known to be rather resistant to most traditional antibiotics. The pediatrician was happy to see that the new medication seems to work, but also warned us that it is quite possible that he will develop a resistance toward these medications as well. We have to return to the specialist in a week and until then, Andrin has to take about four different kind of medications: his antibiotics, ear drops, a nasal spray, and pain medication. We are crossing our fingers that he will be fine by then.
