Tuesday's and Wednesday's impressions

Getting up early - Mami goes to work (even though I plead her all the way to Jasper not to go to work and have to cry when she is leaving me at day care) - I play with my friends and have great days - we get home - have some play time at home - eat dinner - playtime - and then bedtime routine.

Cooking eggs (Only ten minutes until dinner is ready)

Our little boy just brings a smile on my face every day and sometimes just a big loud laugh. He surprises you with his wit, his humor, his intelligence (I know, every parent believes that their child is the smartest ..), and his unbelievable creativity. Working with severely damaged children, I know how beautiful it is to discover the creativity of play ... Well, we do not have to teach our little boy that one. Today, I was preparing dinner and he joined me. He kept repeating "just ten minutes until dinner is finished" and then would prepare his dinner in a matter of second and offer me an egg ... And of course I had to thank him like he always thanks me for cooking such a good dinner (do not ask me where he got that from ...) These moments let me forget all the minutes spent sitting right next to him in the middle of the night because he decides that it is not time for him to sleep and that he can only sleep when Mami is sitting right there (he is making progress though, he pointed out himself that he did not cry, but that he was just calling for me with "Mama, ..." But you should have heard the intensity of that "Mama!!!!!!!" over and over again ...)

Monday's impressions

I slept in (since I kept Mami awake for 90 minutes during the middle of the night ...) - breakfast - trip to the Bank with the stroller - stop at the bakery to get a cookie - playtime at home - lunch - some more playtime - nap time - play and lots of Peter and the Wolf - dinner (mmh, these Aelpermagronen were just great) - bedtime routine (I completely soaked Mami while taking a bath, I even suggested to her that she might as well get in the bath with me), minus the music because the Ipod is not working again ...

Sunday's impressions

Early wake-up (I wanted to sleep with Mami in the BIG bed, but then just snuggled with her) - phone call with Opa and Oma - breakfast - trip to the grocery store to get more jogurt and apples (yes, I do not like the store-bough apple sauce, I guess I am a little bit spoiled and requested to get Mami's apple sauce in the jar) - walk along the river (we could not throw rocks because the path was flooded, but we found a balloon) - lunch - looooooooong nap (Mami had to wake me up because I slept so long and she was worried that I would not fall asleep at night) - play time (water coloring, play dough, ...) - dinner - bedtime routine. Oh, I forgot to mention that I probably listened about five times to Peter and the Wolf!

Christmas preparations

Mami totally forgot to post these pictures from last weekend. We were decorating our house (no, we did not get our Christmas tree yet) and baking cookies. Andrin loved the baking of the cookies, especially the eating of the dough ...

Saturday's impressions

Soccer - Skype with Opa - lunch - nap time - bike ride to the Duck Shop (bad idea after the Ducks just won the Civil War game!) - early dinner - Naia's birthday party at Bounce

Keeping a secret!

I just had to share this story ... We already decided on our baby girl's name (in fact, we already knew and decided a day after we found out that we were having a baby girl which is quite amazing and surprising since we could not decide when we were having Andrin and were looking (oh, we were so ahead of ourselves:) for girl's and boy's names.) Andrin is aware of the name and as soon as he started addressing Mami's growing belly with the baby girl's name, I had second thoughts. Now, I have these wonderful friends .... wonderful, but curious and noisy .... They went online right away when I gave away that it is a Swiss name and that is starts with a B (and no, we will not aim to go through the entire alphabet like a coworker suggested). But I checked it out as well and it will not show up. So someone shared a little secret with me: My dear friends have been asking Andrin about our baby girl's name. I am pretty sure that he probably gave the name away, but that they could not make sense of it since it is a Swiss name. After I found out about this probing and questioning, I had a talk with Andrin about it being a secret. And now listen to this: One dear friend tricked him this morning into playing a "game" with her. She, of course, asked him about the baby's name and what did our smart little boy say? "no, tell." And when he was asked again, he just said that she is called "baby." Just exactly like Mami told him to do! I am actually really surprised that he remembered all this and kept it a secret. But I am sure that my dear friends will come up with another sneaky tactic!
