Bigna's unfortunate encounter with the waste basket

We have had quite some adventures in our house lately. Not the kind of adventures that we prefer though! Last Tuesday, we were getting ready to visit an old friend and her two children. Andrin was brushing his teeth with Mami's help and Bigna was figuring out how to push around the waste basket in the bathroom. The next thing Mami remembers is Bigna crying and Mami realizing that Bigna's little finger (on the right hand) was caught inside the wastebasket. Do not ask Mami what exactly happened after that ... There was lots of blood for such a little finger ... and a crying Bigna ... and Andrin in shock, not knowing what was happening ... We were able to make it to the pediatrician around the corner and he was able to "glue" Bigna's finger. There was a flap underneath her nail that was almost cut off. Luckily, the bone was not injured. But enough excitement for the day, we must say! Bigna was such a great trooper. She did not like when the doctor would touch her finger, but as soon as he would turn his back to her, she was quiet and smiling! During the afternoon, you would not have been able to say that she injured her finger. She was playing, looking intently at her bandaged finger, and even decided that she did not really need an afternoon nap! We are glad that it was not worse, but enough adventures for now, little Bigna!
