This afternoon, we had a special adventure on our agenda. It made saying good bye to Papa who is currently in Bruxelles, Belgium, for a interview for grant money a little bit easier for Andrin. We had found out about this steam train in front of the psychiatric hospital in Basel. Andrin was so happy and even insisted on going on the train by himself. No timid and shy Andrin. He even used his elbows to get on the train and secured himself the best spot :) The train is really cute and Bigna and I went on it as well. Bigna enjoyed it and I earned the comment from Papa that I am the biggest child in the family. What?! The train takes about 8 minutes to complete a loop and is not going fast at all. That gives you time to look at the nice flowers along the way, and enjoy the tunnel, bridge, and other little surprises. There was one scare for Andrin since the last wagon on one of his rides toppled over and had to be removed. The children on it were wiggling around too much and made it jump out of the tracks. When I asked him if he was ok and if he had been scared, he just looked at me with his surprised look and said "no!". We sat at the end by the tracks and observed. The trains are really operated by steam and they use little pieces of coal and water to make it ride.
